Yes, weβre guilty of #3 too...
Mistake #1 | Layering Products Wrong
Applying your skincare in the correct order will make a world of difference. So, if you are ever in doubt, simply apply from the thinnest to thickest formula to get the most efficacy out of each product.
- Cleanser
- Toner
- Serum
- Moisturiser
- Face Oil (PM)
- Sunscreen (AM)
Why does it matter? If you decide to veer off course it will make your products much less effective and could even cause your skin concerns to worsen.
Mistake #2 | Only Wearing SPF at the BeachΒ
You need to remember to slip, slop and slap. Every. Single. Day. Yes, weβre talking rain, hail or shine! Yes, evenwhen you remain inside for most of the day! There is no better anti-aging topical prevention than sunscreen.
Mistake #3 |Β Constantly Touching your Face
Last year, thanks to the virus that shall not be named we became painfully aware that chronic face touching is definitely a thing (guilty!) We believe the best defence is to get your friends and family to call you out every time they catch you in the act to try and break the habit.
Mistake #4 | Applying too much product
When it comes to your skincare routine, try to adopt a less is more approach. It can be easy to trick ourselves into thinking that lathering half a tub of moisturiser onto our faces every night is a great idea but it definitely isnβt. If you arenβt sure of the amount of product you should be using, hereβs a rough guide:
- For face lotions, face creams and hand/foot creams use aΒ pea-sized amount
- For cleansers, toners, masks and body moisturisers using a grape-sized amount
- For eye creams, serums and treatments use aΒ rice-sized amount
Mistake #5 | Going to Bed with Make-Up On
Weβd be telling porkie pies if we said weβd never, evergone to bed with our make-up still on. On the odd occasion when weβve been guilty of this beauty faux pas, a Reusable Makeup Pad from Face HaloΒ wouldβve been our saving grace.
